Finished Work Stretching

Whether stretching or re-stretching, you can trust our professionals with your finished artwork.

Stretching Finished Work:

  • Custom Size - For these special jobs, measurements will be taken from each individual painting, ensuring a perfectly matching stretcher bar.

  • Custom Depths - Our aluminum stretcher can accommodate 1”, 1.5” and 2” profile depths, while our Wood Stretcher Bar can be fabricated with any custom depth you desire.

  • Careful Handling - We take every possible step to keep your artworks clean and safe. Stretching operations take place on either glassine or tyvek, and completed jobs are delicately wrapped for transportation.

  • Professional Expertise - Custom Art Surfaces is proud to have been handling artwork for the greater LA arts community for decades. This trust has been earned by the skilled hands of our stretching team, and is safe-guarded by our ongoing diligence and professional standards.

  • Stretcher Bars Only - For the safety of finished works we will only stretch such pieces onto a true, expanding stretcher bar.

  • Complete Policy Guidelines - Please take a moment to read the Complete Guidelines.

We like to say that stretching canvas is a fabrication process, and stretching art is a conservation practice.

We take every precaution to protect the work and ensure its wellbeing for future generations. Take a moment to read our Complete Guidelines for stretching finished work.

We don’t accept any shortcuts when it comes to the integrity of artworks that come into our care. We strive to do what’s best for your work as long as it’s in our hands, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.
